Corrections Specialist 1 Statewide Visitation (Project)
Monthly Salary Range: $5042$6785
This is a project appointment expected to last one 1 year.
The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the positions of Corrections Specialist 1. This position is located at DOC Headquarters located in Tumwater Washington. This opportunity is only open to current Department of Corrections employees.

The Corrections Specialist 1 (CS1 reports to the Statewide Visit Manager within the Statewide Visit Unit under the Director for Correctional Services Correctional Programs and Services Unit. In this position the CS1 supports the mission of the Department by positively engaging with family and friends of incarcerated individuals by acting as the video visiting point of contact for the agency incarcerated individuals and visitors. Additional tasks include preparing cases for the Visit Multidisciplinary Team (VMDT) documents and coordinating meetings as well as assisting the Extended Family Review Committee (EFV). These connections support successful reentry through family reunification and transition support to reduce recidivism within our communities.
The CS1 supports safer operations through accurate thorough and reoccurring background checks validation of information received review of vital records and processes to reduce threats to the orderly operations within facility visit programs. Additionally this position assists in assessing possible video visit violations and provides documentation for facility Superintendents/designees to address misconduct within the visit program and during video visits.
