What You Will Do

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager responsible for all EH&S issues associated with the daytoday operations at our Carlsbad facility located in Carlsbad California. This position will report to the site Sr. EHS Manager.

This is a leadership position with high visibility and management reporting responsibilities. Candidates should be able to lead projects independently participate on multiple team efforts be energetic and provide team leadership when required.

Responsibilities include:

• Partnering with the leadership team and line supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with Federal State and Local regulations and adherence to P&W procedures and RTX EH&S Standard Practices.

• Identification of health & safety hazards and controls to mitigate risks.

• Coordinating corporatewide programs risk mitigation and injury prevention initiatives

• Responsible for programs related to environmental sustainability indicators such as energy usage natural resource usage waste generation and recycling.

• Working on crossfunctional projects that interface with other groups external to and within the core EH&S team.

• Provide timely information and guidance for the General Manager Sr. EHS Manager and the site EH&S council and SubCommittees including EH&S performance trends and root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses.

• Support in the development and implementation of strategic action plans to achieve the company goal of having a hazardfree workplace injuryfree employees and an unmatched commitment to compliance and sustainability.

• Prepares and provide proper documentation in preparation for permits and liaising with governmental bodies and managing audits.

• Manage consultants hired to assist with EH&S compliance.

• Maintain accurate EHS record keeping and documentation with organizational and regulatory policy.

• Act as an EH&S technical resource for the site and provide training and support as required.

• Directly support employee engagement around EH&S and other key initiatives of the leadership team.

• Assist with establishment of local EHS Management Systems that are aligned with the company EHS Management System.

• Other relevant duties as assigned

Qualifications We Must Have:

• A Bachelor of Science Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

• Previous experience in manufacturing settings is required.

• EH&S Regulatory and management systems knowledge

• U.S. Citizenship required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience in aerospace or electronics environment is preferred

• Proven strong communication strategic leadership technical and interpersonal skills.

• Proven skills working with a team to meet challenging goals.

• Additional certifications such as CSP CIH. P.E. or CHMM.

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 112000 USD 224000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
