About the Role
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology is seeking a researcher in humancomputer interaction novel interactive systems or humancentered AI interfaces to join the School of Computing and Information Systems. As part of a worldclass research group you will collaborate with leading experts in computer science AI and information systems while contributing to highimpact publications in top venues such as ACM CHI and UIST. This role is ideal for an early to midcareer scholar looking to advance their research and leadership in the field.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build a significant research program in novel interactive systems and related fields.
  • Exercise leadership in scholarly research and build interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Present research seminars and workshops within the School and in external forums (e.g. international conferences).
  • Publish peerreviewed scholarly papers in reputable international conferences and journals in HCI.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will be a collaborative and adaptable researcher with strong communication skills and a commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork particularly in humancomputer interaction humancentred AI or fabrication. They will demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including industry and academia while excelling in independent research teaching and mentoring within a dynamic and evolving environment.

You will also have:

  • A PhD in either Computer Science and Engineering HumanComputer Interaction (or equivalent);
  • A relevant research track record as evidenced by research publications on the development of novel interactive systems or humancentred AI in topranked journals and conferences commensurate with opportunity;
  • Demonstrated ability to perform independent research;

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an uptodate Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
