Benchmark Human Services has grown to become one of the most respected leaders in the country in the areas of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health. We work with people of all ages at home at work and in the community through residential programs employment services crisis response day services and more.


Benchmark is looking for an onsite Human Resources (HR) Generalist for our Fort Wayne IN office. This fulltime position requires a positive person who demonstrates strong leadership skills and the ability to multitask multiple responsibilities at once.

Requirements:

  • Reviews tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and nonmandatory training. This may include safety training antiharassment training and professional licensure.
  • Provide onboarding management.
  • Ensure compliance to all HR regulations and responsibilities.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in fastpast environment.
  • Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programsincluding but not limited to compensation benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; workers compensation; employee disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Submits invoices for vendor payment.
  • Handles employmentrelated inquiries from applicants employees and supervisors referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings terminations and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Have strong decisionmaking skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field is preferred
  • Human Service background preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience working in HR
  • Basic understanding of labor law
  • HRIS experience preferred
