A Patient Care Tech (PCT) under the direction of licensed personnel performs various patient careactivities necessary in caring for a patient or a group of patients and performs clerical/receptionistservices as required responsible for working a combination of nights weekends and PCT will assist nursing/medical personnel in all areas while complying with established policiesprocedures and standards of practice in conjunction with all members of the healthcare level of independent practice and performs specific duties with appropriatesupervision. Demonstrates professionalism and understands/abides by ProMedicas mission visionand values in all interactions with patients visitors and coworkers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of thepatients served (i.e.: infant pediatric adolescent adult geriatric) coordinated by licensedpersonnel.
2. Collects patient data as directed. Recognizes and reports any changes or deviations fromroutine to licensed nursing personnel including abnormal vital signs symptoms conditionchanges patient events and patient responses to treatment.
3. Delivers appropriate direct patient care pursuant to the patients needs as assigned.
4. Assists with oneonone patient observation as needed.
5. Functions as an active member of the healthcare team conducting self in accordance withhospital safety policy with strict adherence to confidentiality of all information aboutpatients. Consistently follows customer service standards while maintaining a cooperativeteam relationship with others.
6. Assists in providing clerical support including but not limited to: answering phones copyingstocking of supplies and chart forms maintaining adequate unit and patient room supplies.
7. Demonstrates basic competency for electronic medical record documentation according tojob responsibilities.
8. Performs any other jobrelated duties as indicated.
Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
Must have basic math skills ability to read and write and communicate or respond toinquiries.
Requires effective interpersonal skills while maintaining a professional manner.
Ability to carry out verbal instruction.
Must be able to input and retrieve information from a computer.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations and prolonged periods ofstanding.
Must be able to frequently move lift or carry light to medium weight materials.
Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust fumes chemicals temperature changes andpossible exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
