Job Description

Job Summary
The Director of ECS Student Retention and Engagement works in partnership with and as part of the Jonsson School Undergraduate Student Services leadership team. The Director leads the development and implementation of highimpact student academic support programs across the undergraduate experience with the goal of increasing student engagement persistence resilience engineering identity and graduation rates. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Success and works closely with the Director of Advising the Director of Career and Professional Development and the Assistant Dean of Assessment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Leads develops and implements Schoolwide academic success and intervention strategies to support academic success and engagement for all undergraduate students. Develop and execute programs to cultivate an inclusive working and learning environment for undergraduate students within the Jonsson school. Develop programming that supports the academic and personal goals of undergraduate students employing best practices. Develop and manage programing intended to increase student engagement and sense of belonging including Welcome Week EWeek and other events. Assist student organizations in participating in Jonsson School initiatives and learning outcomes through programming and promoting student engagement and leadership within the School. Develop and lead a Jonsson School Undergraduate Student Advisory Board to keep the administration abreast of student ideas and potential areas for improvement of the undergraduate student experience. Coordinate and work with student organizations including the ECS Student Council. Hire supervise and train staff and/or student employees. Establish strategic goals and develop implementation plans to achieve goals. Support the values of continuous improvement through goal setting assessment and action. Work effectively and collaborate with various campus offices administrators faculty and staff. Engage in ongoing professional development. Participate in student recruiting/outreach events when needed. Other duties as assigned.
