Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detailoriented Medical Records Representative to join our team in Jacksonville. This role is vital to maintaining the integrity security and accuracy of patient medical records. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail excellent organizational skills and a deep understanding of HIPAA regulations.
Essential Job Functions
Record Management: Organize file scan and maintain medical records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Release of Information: Process requests for medical records ensuring proper authorization and confidentiality standards are met.
Data Entry & Auditing: Accurately enter patient data into electronic systems and audit records for completeness and compliance.
Compliance & Confidentiality: Ensure adherence to all HIPAA and privacy regulations regarding the handling of sensitive patient information.
Internal Communication: Collaborate with other departments to retrieve or provide necessary patient information in a timely and secure manner.
Customer Service: Respond to inquiries from patients providers and external parties regarding medical record requests with professionalism and clarity.
Document Tracking: Maintain logs and tracking for requests releases and record retrievals.
NonEssential Job Functions
Assist with administrative duties as needed.
Support department projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and compliance.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Requirements
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
Physical & Working Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting standing and data entry.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
Standard office environment.
