The Opportunity

The Principal People Operations will provide advice and guidance on all employee lifecycle matters for multiple business units at IGO. The role directly supports members of the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams on operational people matters for those that fall within your portfolio. This is a handson role that requires collaboration with key stakeholders and other People colleagues to ensure positive employee engagement within a safe productive supportive and valuesaligned workplace.

You will be a highly experienced People and Culture professional and have worked in an operational setting that positions you to be a subject matter expert for Employee and Industrial Relations. This role presents an opportunity for you to join a high performing team within a valuesbased mining and exploration company.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Coachandupskillleadersinoptimising recognising and managing the performance of teams and individuals;
  • Support leaders in onboarding and educating new starters on IGO People procedures and processes;
  • Provide technical guidance updates and education on legislation and case law; process and policy updates and peer review of investigations;
  • Lead industrial and employment relation law matters including grievance investigations and disciplinary actions for your portfolio;
  • Collaborate with the broader multifunctional People team to develop and execute plans to achieve strategy;
  • Develop and recommend solutions to enhance company performance and mitigate emerging risks;
  • Support and guide leaders throughorganisationalchangeinitiatives; and
  • Facilitate organisational culture and shared values initiatives that will improve the alignment and engagement of employees.

Your Experience

Along with your exceptional customer service focus and collaborative capabilities and energetic nature you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR/IR or substantial experience in a similar role;
  • Extensive experience in an operational setting and a comprehensive up to date understanding of ER and IR laws and Australian industrial relations instruments;
  • A solutionsbased approach to challenges and a proven track record in influencing positive outcomes;
  • Flexible approach to managing priorities and ability to adapt to a changing environment;
  • Outstanding approach to partnering with stakeholders and developing positive working relationships;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRI systems (Success Factors advantageous);
  • High quality written verbal and interpersonal communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to undertake site travel as required;
  • Valid C class manual drivers licence and
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
