The Alexa Devices Sales & Marketing organization is looking for an experienced Quantitative Researcher to deliver data and insights that help deepen our understanding of customers and drive business actions. You will be joining the Alexa Customer Science (ACS) team whose mission is to surface timely scientificallygrounded insights about customers to guide Amazon devices product sales and marketing leaders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitative research methods excellent analytical skills comfort with ambiguous problem spaces and largen data sets and a passion for understanding individuallevel attitudes and behavior. Experience with sampling design and survey data weighting is desirable.
As a Quantitative Researcher with ACS you will be responsible for designing conducting and analyzing quantitative research studies that help product sales and marketing teams in Alexa Devices better understand our customers preferences experiences and behaviors. You will own research projects endtoend including measurement strategy data collection analysis and reporting to peers and business leaders. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams including product managers marketing managers research and data scientists and engineers. You should have deep expertise in the design creation management and business use of surveys randomized experiments (including conjoints maxdiff and other choice tasks) and the latest quantitative research tools. Competency in mixedmethods or qualitative approaches is also desirable.
Key job responsibilities
Work closely with product sales and marketing teams as well as fellow researchers and scientists to identify research topics and build a research roadmap; communicate and refresh on a regular basis to ensure relevancy.
Create a deep understanding of customers through descriptive inferential and experimental approaches (existing or invented) that you identify as being most effective for answering a given business question.
Design implement and analyze data from surveys randomized experiments and other largen data sets.
Work with business intelligence teams to triangulate survey data with customer engagement and segmentation data.
Create repeatable and scalable mechanisms to measure key customer metrics that drive product iteration.
Synthesize a wide range of primary and secondary data types leading to focused insightful and actionable insights that persuade and inspire partners and leaders to take concerted informed actions.
Work closely with research peers to promote best practices build resources and train team members to enable them to execute their own research projects.

About the team
The Alexa Customer Science (ACS) team is a team of Research Scientists and UX Researchers that surfaces timely scientificallygrounded insights about customers to guide marketing and product leaders.
BA/BS in statistics experimental psychology cognitive science a quantitative social science human computer interaction or related discipline
4 years of handson experience conducting quantitative research in an applied setting
Experience in languages used for data manipulation and statistics (R Stata python Qualtrics) and with SQL
Endtoend experience with all aspects of research (study design recruiting moderation analysis reporting)
Deep knowledge of behavioral statistics and the principles of experimental design
Excellent communication presentation interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
Portfolio of research artifacts demonstrating past work experience deliverables and extraction of actionable insights from quantitative data
MA/MS in statistics experimental psychology cognitive science a quantitative social science human computer interaction or related discipline
7 years working as a researcher in a fastpaced product development environment
Research experience related to consumer technology multimodal devices and/or AI

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
