Restorative Practice and Our Vision

Here in Southend relationships really matter. The key to successful Social Work is how we form and develop relationships of all types. From the relationships you build with children and their families to the relationships you have with our Safeguarding Partners. This includes the relationships within our own organisation.

Southends ASYE programme is based on a national framework for practice development to help Newly Qualified Social Workers to develop the skills knowledge and capability to climb the career ladder. Here in Southend we provide a bespoke ASYE programme dedicated to your individual learning and development needs. We want you to have a rewarding and satisfying career and for this reason we invest in delivering a progressive and comprehensive development programme that can offer you:

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) days to support your individual Professional Development Plan:

  • Access to Southend Social Care Academy with various learning and development opportunities including seminars workshops and action learning
  • Protected caseloads and time for learning
  • Monthly reflective practice groups to share experiences and to learn from each other
  • Southend Social Care Academys individual support coaching mentoring and guidance throughout the process
  • Dedicated support and supervision from your Manager and ASYE assessor to help you reflect on your practice and learning needs
  • Comprehensive Induction Programme including key people and areas of Childrens Services
  • Continuation of support after completing the ASYE Programme

To be successful in this position you must be either a Qualified Social Worker or just finishing your Social Work degree.

You must have UK experience of working within Children and Families.
