Job Description
The Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications at The University of Tulsa is seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Coordinator to join our team. This role will focus primarily on the College of Engineering and Computer Science promoting its achievements research and programs through compelling written content and effective project management. The Communications Coordinator will collaborate closely with MarCom colleagues in web development email marketing graphic design and publicity to ensure a cohesive and engaging communication strategy. Specific Responsibilities: Develop engaging and informative written content including articles press releases feature stories and blog posts highlighting the achievements research and activities of the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Conduct interviews with faculty students and alumni to gather content and personal stories that resonate with the target audience. Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy and adherence to university style guidelines. Collaborate with various teams within the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications to coordinate projects related to web development email marketing graphic design social media video production and publicity. Serve as a liaison between the College of Engineering and Computer Science and the marketing team to ensure alignment of messaging and branding. Manage project timelines set priorities and track progress to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget. Cultivate relationships with local regional and national media outlets to increase the visibility of the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Write and distribute press releases to announce significant accomplishments events and research findings. Respond to media inquiries and coordinate interviews with faculty and experts. Collaborate with the social media team to promote content related to the College of Engineering and Computer Science on university social media platforms. Monitor social media channels for relevant discussions and engage with the online community. Utilize analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts and make datadriven recommendations for improvements. Prepare regular reports to demonstrate the impact of communications initiatives on the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in communications marketing journalism or a related field. Exceptional writing editing and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail. Working knowledge of science technology engineering and math disciplines. Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with various stakeholders. Experience in media relations and public relations is a plus. Familiarity with higher education and technical disciplines is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and content management systems.
