Job Description

The Chemical and Physical Sciences Department at MSSU is currently seeking candidates for a tenure track Assistant Professor Position in Organic Chemistry starting August 2025 in Joplin Missouri. Successful candidates should be prepared to teach general chemistry organic chemistry and biochemistry courses. Other specialty areas of study may be acceptable.
The position requires demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and advising at the undergraduate level. A Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry or a related field is preferred; however candidates who are ABD will be considered.
Applicants should provide a detailed letter of application curriculum vitae copies of undergraduate and graduates transcripts a brief description of a research plan that incorporates undergraduate students and instrumentation needs as well as the names and contact information of three professional references.
