Fleet Remediation Engineering specializes in retrofit efforts that span several engineering disciplines and is applied across a variety of data center infrastructure designs. We align stakeholders to place a high focus on engineering design quality implementation and delivery of the most advanced most difficult and most ambiguous infrastructure retrofit efforts within the existing AWS data center community. By continuously mapping priorities defined via AWS Capital Improvement Prioritization Program (CIPP) we invest the proper time and effort into projects that achieve the largest bottomline impact for the business. We are passionate about ensuring our latest innovations are implemented into our existing fleet to provide maximum benefit on behalf of our customers and get our energy through challenge innovation and design.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to support our data center retrofit programs that modernize and improve our extensive data center fleet. The Sr. TPM will lead cross functional and technical teams to drive projects from concept to requirements definition feasibility assessments designs implementation testing and deployment. The Sr. TPM will develop the strategy for the retrofit of the existing data center fleet with the latest generation of mechanical & electrical products to meet the latest design standards. Additionally the Sr. TPM will lead initiatives associated with the global Fleet Remediation Engineering portfolio developing or enhancing systems tools & mechanisms to streamline project delivery. The Sr. TPM will apply their expertise to:

Develop the path and strategy for incorporation of the latest mechanical & electrical engineering solutions to existing data center fleet.
Lead cross functional and technical teams to drive projects from concept to requirements definition feasibility assessments designs implementation testing and deployment.
Evaluate the requirements and actions that enable delivery of the mechanical & electrical programs in our fleet of existing data centers.
Prioritize programs within the portfolio based on technical risks and gain alignment on that prioritization.

Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator both written and verbally and possess 710 years of experience in tactical project management of highly technical electrical engineering initiatives as well as strategic program management. Experience in managing data center infrastructure deployments R&D projects and understanding of SQL data bases is a plus. A Bachelors Degree or additional technical experience is required. Candidates possessing a background in architecture/design electrical engineering data center infrastructure/operations and/or construction who have transitioned to a program management discipline will have a distinct advantage.

Candidate must be comfortable managing conceptual development efforts remote project delivery teams and possess the ability to facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project or initiative implementation issues and remove barriers to project or initiative success. Being able to evaluate project or initiative feasibility create crossfunctional matrixbased teams establish trust with a variety of stakeholders across multiple time zones eliminate nonvalueadd activity design solutions remove blockers and find creative ways to accelerate project or initiative delivery is a must.

The TPM will be fully competent in a variety of project management tools methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle and exhibit demonstrated proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope schedule budget resources quality and risk management reporting and metric development/tracking.

Other requirements include proficiency with MS Office MS Project MS SharePoint and Smartsheet.

Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for engineering development finance integration and operation of these complex capital improvement programs and affiliated systems. You prioritize your activities to support and understand the projects status solve problems and blockers and focus on the actions that are most impactful for program success.

7 years of technical product or program management experience
7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
5 years experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
Bachelors degree in engineering computer science or equivalent
5 years experience with MS Project MS Office and MS Sharepoint

Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure complex systems systems engineering
7 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
