Job Description

The Office of Institutional Research & Analysis (IR) is the central source for information about the University of Denver. We serve the Universitys vision values mission and goals by analyzing and reporting institutional data to inform University and unitlevel planning and development.

The Office of Institutional Research & Analysis performs systematic objective research and analysis to inform strategic planning decision making and policy development at the University. We employ a holistic understanding of the complex interaction between academic and business systems and processes to deliver timely accurate information and insight to members of the DU community and promote the strategic use of data resources across campus.
Our mission is to advance access equity and success in higher education by working in partnership with stakeholders and University leadership to ensure an institutional culture of assessment data strategy and datainformed decision making.

Position Summary

The Manager of Faculty Data is a full time twelvemonth position that works as part of the Institutional Research & Analysis team to provide structure and support to the research and reporting efforts of the office and is responsible for managing the administration of the faculty personnel life cycle from hiring to retiring including promotions renewals sabbaticals and tenure relinquishments. The position works with staff within the Institutional Research office stakeholders across campus and the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and reports to the Assistant Director of Faculty Data Support in Institutional Research and Analysis. The manager of faculty data serves a vital role with responsibility for effective operation of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellors Office.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee accuracy of all faculty HR workflows and lifecycle changes including all faculty postings and hires sabbaticals contract renewals tenure and promotion tenure relinquishments summer research appointments department chair/director/associate dean appointments and the volunteer faculty audit.
  • Oversee and administer annual faculty sabbatical request process in conjunction with the Sabbatical Review Subcommittee of the Faculty Senate and senior vice provost for research and graduate education. Manage process in Watermark prepare recommendations for the for January FEAC meeting download all applications check for eligibility write summaries for board report prepare spreadsheet for mail merge compose and deliver decision letters from provost track and implement with Human Resources and update throughout the year with changes to timing. Monitor and communicate about meritorious sabbatical enhancements with units faculty and business officers.
  • Oversee and manage all administrative processes related to Tenure and Promotion including managing the processes in Watermark coordination with units on applications for review by the provost and vice provosts (as appropriate) management of all applications preparation of summaries for June FEAC meeting of the Board of Trustees preparation of spreadsheet for mail merge compose and send decision letters from provost prepare report for human resources and planning and budget so pay raises take effect properly and monitor accuracy of unit of decisions completed.
  • Coordinate the administration of course evaluations in Watermarks Course Evaluation and Surveys for all units across all quarters/semesters.
  • Oversee and work on collection and reporting of faculty teaching research and service activities in Faculty Success.
  • Work with Assistant Director of Faculty Data Support and IT department to establish and maintain reporting procedures for course evaluation data;
  • Respond to internal data requests for institutional student faculty and course evaluation data and present data to the University community
  • Support departmental initiatives and data collection projects such as the Faculty Data Cleaning project.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent and proven written verbal and editorial skills
  • Ability to work well with faculty and staff providing strong customer service and support.
  • Absolute tact discretion confidentiality sound judgment and the utmost professionalism.
  • Organized accurate and on time with all work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint Word) and Outlook.
  • Proven skills to think creatively and strategically
  • Experience in survey design and implementation.
  • Experience manipulating large data sets.
  • High degree of initiative flexibility and ability to multitask routinely.
  • Ability to complete projects independently and work cooperatively as part of a team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Social sciences statistics or related field
  • Experience with survey management
  • 3 or more years of office support experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree Masters Degree in social sciences statistics or related field or commensurate combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Watermark products Faculty Success and Course Evaluations and Surveys preferred

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for an extended period of time.

Work Schedule
Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. In accordance with the Universitys flexible work policy this position is eligible to be considered for partial remote work. Further details regarding this plan will be determined with the hiring manager and are dependent on the division and team specific needs.

alary Range:
The salary range for this position is $57000$65000

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
