The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Southeast Region as anAssistant Land Manager Natural Resource Specialist 1 (NRS1.This position is an entrylevel position regarding the management of state lands and in support of productivity and revenue generation. This person will work with the Land Manager to provide program oversight regarding the Regions agriculture activities and ensure agriculture leases within the Southeast Region are properly issued by assisting with granting new leases amendments assignments and associated letters. By doing this this position is ensuring positive revenue generation for the State Trust.

Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Helps complete lease renewal forms and reports monitor lease compliance assess rent adjustments and track payments.
  • Assists with the processing of lease agreements and related documents such as amendments assignments and letters.
  • Conduct field inspections prepare field documents and complete other field work as needed by land managers.
  • Help to evaluate and track the implementation of lease Resource Management Plans to ensure ecosystem standards are met.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited institution AND one year of experience;
    OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Working knowledge of trust land management theory principles and related laws.

Special Requirements and Conditions of Employment:
  • Assigned duty station will be either the Southeast Regional Office in Ellensburg or the Pasco Workstation. Work is performed in an office 60 with occasional travel to field locations. Incumbent must be able to work long periods on a computer and the phone.
  • This position may require occasional travel to meetings trainings and to field locations.
  • A valid unrestricted drivers license and two years of driving experience. This position requires driving as an essential function. Finalists and/or interview candidates will be asked to provide a driving record from all states in which they have held a license during the past three years.
