Position Description:As the Community Coordinator you will promoteshousing stability for marginalized individuals supportingtheirhealth wellness and community belonging through recreational and communitybuilding activities as well as connecting to community resources and events.

Location: Kitchener ON

Hours of Work:Full time35hours per week.Flexibilityis required to meet program needs including evenings nights and position is a temporary contract endingafter8. *Position length and hours subject to approval by Service Canada.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Working as part of a team to provide direct and indirect support to tenants in a supportive housing environment.
  • Helping individuals connect to community resources supports and programming.
  • Reinforcing individuals life skills spirituality social and community skills by planning and supporting participation in cultural spiritual recreational leisure educational and social activities
  • Arranging and coordinating all aspects of recreational and community activities for tenants
  • Supporting volunteers
  • Documentation of events including program planning tracking of participants evaluation of events
  • Develop therapeutic relationships
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum High School diploma. Priority given to those with postsecondary education in the social sciences and/or residential experience
  • Commitment to promoting and demonstrating the vision mission and values of Indwell within the workplace and community
  • A warm sensitive and caring approach with a genuine interest in supporting people living with mental illness
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships and work well independently
  • Strong listening and problemsolving skills flexibility organization responsibility and initiative
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Police Check or willingness to obtain at ones own cost
