Job Description
As a Sr UX Researcher you will design execute and analyze user experiments to guide the development of Amazon FinTech products from a research prototype to launch. This role is on the FinTech UX Design and Research team with the impact autonomy flexibility and speed of innovation of a highgrowth startup powered by the resources of Amazon. The Sr. UX Researcher will have a passion for improving the customer experience and driving highvisibility programs that will impact product designs used by millions of people. Key job responsibilities
Own all aspects of the user research (study design recruiting moderation analysis reporting communicating budgeting research) making autonomous decisions to evaluate which user research methodology approaches work and which dont.
Design and conduct a wide spectrum of experiments from quick informal lab evaluations with internal participants to formal external user studies with detailed usage & behavioral analysis.
Create longterm research roadmaps and opportunity frameworks that align to and inform product strategy and goals.
Collaborate with UX designers product managers and engineering to evaluate prototypes functional mockups usability testing A/B testing etc.
Become a domain expert through daily use of prototypes competitive and complementary products to develop a deep product intuition to guide your research.
Communicate the results of your research and the impact on product design golive and future user research.
5 years of handson experience as a user researcher or similar role.
Experience conducting UX research (study design data analysis and devising customer insights/recommendations) with varied research methodologies and the proven ability to execute the right methodology to get the needed result. Experience with both physical device and mobile app UX.
3 years experience working within an entrepreneurial and iterative design process with the skill to leverage early results to influence product design knowing the balance between certainty of methodology and speed of .
A portfolio that illustrates how your research informed decisionmaking showcasing deliverables and your ability to extract actionable insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
3 years experience working alongside a product development cycle and building relationships between business UX technology and research teams
Excellent communication interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to present insights clearly and persuasively to colleagues partners and stakeholders
Bachelors Degree in a related field.
Open to staffing this role in Seattle or NYC.
The ability to tackle complex highlevel research challenges within an uncharted problem space.
Experience in consumer products with research leading to delightful user experiences.
Experience in business enterprise products evaluating iterative prototypes labbased user testing and field research.
Experience inventing new research methods when the right method does not exist.
Experience with behavioral datacollection and analysis skills (e.g. designing conducting and analyzing all kinds of user data using statistical analysis tools.
MS or PhD in human computer interaction human factors psychology sociology anthropology or related discipline.
