Amazon Engineering Services is looking for a detailoriented analytical innovative handson and customerobsessed Cost Manager that can provide cost management support directly contributing to growing Amazons customer fulfillment network. As a Cost Manager you will be responsible for budget benchmarking controls over Customer Fulfillment Business Units including developing and maintaining a building cost database providing centralised cost support to procurement and project team negotiations and forecasting future cost indexations for funding needs. You will have ownership and responsibility over benchmarking of multibillion dollar Amazon Fulfillment Operations expansions within North America.
As a Cost Manager (CM) you will manage and support one or multiple of Amazons business units: Global Customer Fulfillment Global Air Program Global Specialty Fulfillment Amazon Logistics Pharmacy Merch by Amazon Sort Center Network and Initiatives.
Key attributes of a successful CM for this role include excellent written and verbal communication ability to learn and be curious and strong financial acumen. Candidate must be highly motivated and effective within distributed teams.
Key job responsibilities
Ownership and responsibility over budget benchmarking controls of multibillion dollar Amazon fulfillment Operations expansions within North America.
Provide tactical and strategic cost support for negotiations by Procurement and Project Teams.
Develop monthly/quarterly status updates to VP level leadership.
Partner and contribute across all functions within Customer Fulfillment and will actively manage multiple stakeholders including Finance Startup Real Estate Procurement and Construction.
Ensure the accuracy of benchmarking data remains within established and globally approved parameters.
Maintain accurate records of cost indexation and own the forecast of future cost impacts in locations across North America
Manage internal teams and build processes and tools to enable scalable and flexible operations including a new cost benchmarking database.
Retrieve and analyze data using Excel SQL or other data management systems.

5 years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
Bachelors degree
2 years of driving process improvements experience
Masters degree or MBA in business operations human resources adult education organizational development instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
