The Vanderhaeghen Lab https://pvdhlab; @ at the VIBKU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research is seeking a creative postdoctoral scientist to study the humanspecific genetic mechanisms of development and function of cortical neurons.
Join us to undertake a highly interdisciplinary project focusing on a longstanding and fascinating question: what makes our brain human (Vanderhaeghen and Polleux Nat. Rev. Neurosci. 2023.
We combine cuttingedge approaches such as pluripotent stem cell models of human corticogenesis humanmouse brain xenotransplantation mouse transgenesis in vivo mouse brain imaging and ex vivo human brain recordings.

Profile
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in developmental cellular or molecular neurobiology in link with human brain evolution and diseases.
- PhD in neuroscience genetics evolutionary biology or related field.
- Experience in transcriptomics or functional genomics is a plus.
- Creative enthusiastic critically thinking enjoying teamwork and excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
