POSITION SUMMARY:
- Maintain schools in a condition of operating excellence so full educational usemay occur at all times
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. desired
- Clear and Valid Texas Drivers License
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Have a good driving record
- Be willing to attend classes and workshops
- Ability to assist Electricians in the transformation of plans into a completed product
- Basic knowledge of electrical & lighting systems
Experience:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain all safety and code requirements of the State local and Board of Education guidelines
- May be required to be on 24hour callout
- Be able to work with designated crafts in the work assigned
- Assist Electricians in performing regular preventive maintenance on equipment
- Perform all other duties assigned

- Tools/Equipment Used:Light truck or van various tools such as; hand and power tools and other tools as needed on work assignments. Specialty tools related to specific craft assignments.
- Posture: Frequent standing; kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
- Motion:Frequent walking and reaching
- Lifting:Heavy lifting and carrying 50 pounds and over) on a daily basis
- Environment:Work inside and outside (exposure to sun heat cold and inclement weather); exposure to noise
- Mental Demands:Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
- Professional Dress: Dress must be clean neat in a manner appropriate for his or her assignment and in accordance with any additional standards established by his or her supervisor and approved by the Superintendent. During work hours visible body piercings (except earrings) will not be allowed.
