Position Overview:
The Senior ManagerVisual Communications will be responsible for overseeing and leading all internal and external communication strategies. This individual will manage the development and implementation of marketing media and public relations campaigns to elevate the firms profile and strengthen its position within the architecture industry. You will work closely with senior leadership design teams and external partners to craft compelling narratives around the firms architecture and design philosophy key projects and industry contributions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the companys brand visibility and reputation within the architecture and design industry.
Media Relations: Cultivate relationships with media outlets journalists and industry influencers to secure press coverage articles and interviews in toptier publications (print digital and broadcast).
Content Creation: Lead content creation across various platforms including website social media newsletters and press releases. Ensure all communications align with brand messaging and tone.
Social Media Management: Develop and implement social media strategies to promote projects thought leadership and company culture. Oversee content creation community engagement and performance analysis across platforms such as Instagram LinkedIn Twitter and others.
Project Messaging: Collaborate with design and project teams to craft compelling narratives around key architectural projects highlighting the firms design innovation sustainability efforts and impact on the built environment.
Award Entries: Lead the preparation and submission of award entries ensuring that the firms projects are showcased in the best light. This includes writing and editing entries coordinating with project teams and ensuring all deadlines are met.
Thought Leadership: Position the firms leadership as industry thought leaders by facilitating speaking opportunities authored articles and participation in key architectural conferences and events.
Internal Communications: Oversee internal communications strategies ensuring alignment across all teams and fostering a collaborative transparent and engaging workplace culture.
Crisis Communications: Manage crisis communication and reputation management efforts when necessary ensuring messaging is clear consistent and aligned with company values.
Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and manage communication strategies for engaging clients partners and stakeholders highlighting key collaborations and the firms contributions to the architectural community.
Business Development (BD) Support: Contribute to the development of business development (BD) collaterals including proposals presentations and case studies. Work closely with the BD team to ensure the firms messaging aligns with market needs and client expectations.
Branding & Design: Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to ensure consistent visual identity across all communications and promotional materials.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in communications/Public Relations/Journalism/Marketing/Architecture or a related field (Masters degree preferred). Preference will be given to candidates with an Architecture background.
Minimum of 68 years of professional experience in communications or public relations with at least 5 years specializing in architecture design or related industries.
Strong understanding of the architecture and design landscape including key trends influencers and challenges.
Proven experience in managing media relations content creation and brand communications.
Experience managing social media strategies and content creation for a designfocused organization.
Demonstrated success in preparing and submitting award entries with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex architectural concepts to a wide range of audiences.
Experience in crisis management and reputation strategy.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to work crossfunctionally and manage relationships with senior leaders designers and external partners.
High proficiency in digital marketing social media platforms and analytics tools.
Creative proactive and solutionsoriented with the ability to work independently and in teams.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with photography video production or digital content creation.
Familiarity with architectural software or visualization tools (e.g. AutoCAD SketchUp Revit) is a plus.
Familiarity with social media management tools.
