Job Description
Role Summary:
We are looking for a skilled API Developer & Support Analyst with 4 to 5 years of experience in developing supporting and maintaining APIs in the banking domain. The ideal candidate will have experience working with enterpriselevel API management tools strong database knowledge and handson experience in operational monitoring and incident management. Experience with Avaloq Apigee and Open Banking standards will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure 99.99 uptime and high performance of NatWest APIs through proactive monitoring and support.

Manage incident response for outages misconfigurations and performance issues including root cause analysis.

Design and implement capacity planning strategies for optimal resource utilization.

Effectively engage with thirdparty vendors to bring valueadded solutions to the organization.

Perform data analysis using tools like Splunk to identify trends and resolve complex APIrelated issues.

Provide recommendations for continuous technology improvements and innovation in API services.

Contribute to CI/CD practices with a focus on incremental development and automated deployments.

Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises for API systems.

Identify and automate manual processes to improve efficiency and scalability.

Regularly update stakeholders on API health performance and key operational metrics.
Required Skills & Experience:
-
4–5 years of experience in development and support of APIs in the banking or financial sector. (Avaloq experience is a plus)

Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts with proficiency in SQL.

Experience in creating and running complex Splunk queries for logs and monitoring.

Handson experience in managing application certificates for API integrations.

Familiarity with both mobile and web banking platforms.

Experience using tools such as JIRA Confluence Apigee and Ping Identity.

Proficient in MS Excel and capable of preparing highquality PowerPoint presentations for stakeholder reporting.
Good to Have:

Knowledge of Open Banking API specifications and associated products.

Exposure to API security standards authentication mechanisms and best practices.
