This includes the care prevention and rehabilitation of injuries for our studentathletes irrespective of race creed color national origin sexual orientation or gender. Emphasis is placed on preventive measures such as taping protective equipment and flexibility training. Additionally the incumbent will provide a professional clinical environment for Long Beach State students aspiring to a career in athletic training.
The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills including proficiency in Word Excel and Sportsware to effectively track injury and treatment records of studentathletes. Additionally they should have a solid understanding of physical therapy modalities and treatment protocols to ensure standardized care for studentathletes.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and nondiscrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.
A bachelors degree in athletic training physical education kinesiology or related field of study is required.
Masters degree preferred.
Athletic training certification in good standing by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification required.
CPR/AED certification required.
First Aid certification required.
Valid California drivers license required.
Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on university business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.
Athletics
The salary range for this classification is $24.31 to $46.90 per hour.
Hourly/intermittent on call temporary position. Successful candidates may be appointed for a few days and up to one 1 year depending on the assignment. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Long Beach State Athletics is committed to following NCAA Big West Conference Golden Coast Conference and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rules and regulations. Therefore the incumbent is required to maintain a working knowledge of these rules and regulations.
