The Director Operations EMEA will act as Regional Head and will have overall responsibility for all daytoday operational activities related to electrical mechanical property management and physical security for a region comprising of several data center campuses in Frankfurt Paris London and Milan. You will be responsible for spearheading the recruitment of the Operations team and lead the selection mobilization and management of outsourced critical facility management partners in the region.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead a data center team that will operate the building infrastructure according to industry standards and tenants requirements.
  • Ensure that maintenance is performed in a timely manner. Establish appropriate thirdparty relationships with contractors and facility management companies to ensure that support is available in a timely manner during emergencies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with tenants and be the SPOC for major operational issues.
  • Coordinate with the Development/Project Management team on construction activities to prevent disruption to tenants business activities. Partner with other teams during design construction and commissioning to ensure a smooth handover to the Operations team.
  • Prepare and adhere to operating budgets; provide reporting on spending SLAs and compliance with lease obligations. Serve as subject matter expert for local laws and regulations.
  • Develop and provide transparent reporting on key operational and performance metrics driving best in class processes and performance which can then be shared across campuses.
  • Collaborate with the Operations teams globally to exchange ideas create standards and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with the team to develop and improve MOPs and SOPs. Carry out regular technical and quality reviews of procedures (covering all activities associated with endtoend campus management) ensuring: i) consistency of tenant experience across campuses; ii) the most uptodate techniques and safety guidelines are utilized as well as compliance with local regulations; iii) safety is paramount and at the heart of every day operations.
  • Deliver root cause analysis and ensure corrective/preventive action is taken to minimize downtime.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting planning incident management and change management.
  • Develop and foster a teamoriented environment through positive feedback and coaching continuous learning and a shared (team) commitment to exceeding our tenants expectations.


Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical mechanical facilities management or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of operating experience in a hyperscale 24/7 missioncritical environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing staff.
  • Fluency in English and another European language.
  • Experience with critical facilities management outsourcing in UK and Europe.
  • Proven leader with skill set to coach mentor manage and develop a technical group across a broad portfolio of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to engage and work well with stakeholders at all levels in business in delivering to commitments and to customer expectations.
  • Able to manage risks and execute contingency plans (where required) alongside ability to drive complex projects through to completion on time to budget.
  • Willingness to travel.
