The parttime assistant coach for mens and womens swimming and diving is responsible for assisting the head mens and womens swimming and diving coach in implementing and directing all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III mens and womens swimming and diving program at DePauw University. This includes recruiting quality studentathletes organizing and planning practices and meet strategies coaching recruiting scheduling budgeting and planning team travel in compliance with University conference and NCAA rules and FUNCTIONS Reasonable Accommodations Statement To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelors degree is highly : Minimum 13 years of collegiate experience as a participant and/or coaching experience at the club high school or college level. Certificates & Licenses: A valid US drivers license is required. Certification in first aid/CPR/AED is required by the first date of appointment and must be maintained throughout appointment. They must be able to provide basic demonstrations of skills and tactics describe any modifications they are unable to demonstrate apply appropriate game rules to the teaching and practicing and monitor for safety while coaching. They must be able to recruit studentathletes which requires phone calls and traveling offcampus and evaluating written oral and digital information from prospective studentathletes and interact with outside interests in the form of DePauw alumni high school coaches club team coaches and parents during the recruitment of student athletes. WORK ENVIRONMENT Coaching work is conducted in a traditional office environment as well as inside and outside in athletics and recreational facilities. Ambient temperature humidity and extreme heat or cold may be present.
