Job Description

Position:Summer Reading Intervention Teacher

Dates: Monday Thursday July 7 2025 Julydays a week for a month)

Location: Hosmer School

Rate of Pay: $35.00 per hour

Hours:8:0012:00 pm includes 30 min of prep a day

Additional days: 1 day 4hrs) one 1hour orientation and includes program set up/clean up time.

Additional paid time: There may be an additional weekly 30minute faculty meeting at the discretion of the Director.

Number of Positions: 3

The responsibilities may include:

Teach grouping of students in grades K5. (Small groupings students)

  • Use responsive classroom management strategies to coteach morning meeting
  • Conduct small group literacy lessons using Fundations and Heggerty materials
  • Provide targeted differentiated reading instruction using data to drive lessons
  • Gather progress monitoring data using DIBELS measures
  • Create an end of summer progress report for families
  • Encourage a love of reading and talking about books

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience working with elementary students.
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues
  • Familiarity with best practices in evidencebased structured literacy instruction
  • Holds the belief that all children can learn and learn to read and write effectively
  • Familiarity with Responsive Classroom practices language and beliefs
  • Attend preprogram training and weekly faculty meetings.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A current Massachusetts Teaching License/Certification

Three or more successful years of experience teaching students in literacy preferred
