Job Title: Varsity Head Wrestling Coach
Supervisor: Principal / Athletic Director
Terms of Employment: Supplemental

Job Summary Direct and evaluate the learning experiences of students in both curricular and extracurricular activities. The Head Varsity Coach is responsible for working with the overall administration supervision and coordination of the specific sport for the school.

Coaching Responsibilities:

Work with the athletic director to establish a yearly budget for the area of responsibility.
Ensure compliance with all Horry County policies concerning athletics.
Ensure compliance with all South Carolina High School League rules and regulations as well as region rules and regulations.
Discuss all problems with the athletic director.
Create an exciting and interesting program that will attract student athletes and increase student body and community spirit.
Create a program which will monitor grades and behavior of student athletes.
Work with the athletic director to hire all staff for the wrestling program.
Make sure all the facilities in program are safe clean and well managed yearround.
Create a system which will allow staff to grow in all phases of coaching to include pre and postseason conferences.
Communicate effectively to the parents and community the vision for the wrestling programs.
Prepare yearly pre and postseason inventory sheets.
Work directly with the strength coach to establish inseason outofseason and summer workout programs.
Work with college recruiters to place as many student athletes as possible.

Other Duties Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator that serve to promote the social and academic wellbeing of students.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required)

Must have at least a high school diploma or higher. REQUIRED
The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of successful coaching experience.
Communicate effectively through both verbal and written communication.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Must complete all NFHS and Horry County Schools coaching readiness requirements.
Must have current CPR/AED certification or willing to obtain certification prior to employment.

Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms; walk; sit; stoop or kneel; crouch or crawl. Duties may involve risk resulting from attending to students behavioral physical or sanitation/hygiene needs. Individual should be able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone and speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.
