Job Description
Sutton School Millers Run School and Newark Street School is seeking an Art Teacher who will teach kindergarten through eighth grade students. The ideal candidate will design and present exciting lessons (painting drawing sculpting computer art digital media etc) that actively engages all learners and builds an appreciation and exposure to a wide variety of media. Opportunities include involvement with student art displays contests and preparing props for school performances. Knowledge of Responsive Classroom and/or Developmental Design techniques and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports are preferred. Sutton School Millers Run School and Newark Street School are part of the Kingdom East School District located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK8th grade schools ranging from 50 to 500 students. Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy or another high school of their choosing.We are located about 3 hours from Montreal Boston and Portland ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing hiking mountain biking fishing canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton NH and St. Johnsbury VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues. Our communities attract wholesome families faculty and staff. Our schools maintain impassioned faculty personalized beliefs about success and a caring safe school culture.
