Bachelors degree and 7 years fundraising experience required. Healthcare fundraising experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated track record of closing six and sevenfigure level gifts.
Must possess advanced knowledge/skills with the Microsoft Office products including Word Excel PowerPoint database software and scheduling/organizing software; and must have exceptional customer services skills. Raisers Edge experience is preferred.
Superior organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail required.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to the field of professional development.

GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development the Director will be responsible for securing commitments of $3 million annually to benefit cancer specialties and subspecialties with a focus on the Department of Radiation Oncology. This position will be a key member of the cancer team and participate actively in building a comprehensive program to encourage philanthropic support. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of identifying cultivating and soliciting six and sevenfigure gifts.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build effective partnerships with some of the worlds leading cancer physicianscientists to advance strategies focused on closing major or principal gifts.
Build and manage a portfolio of approximately 100 donors/prospects to develop and execute strategies to secure gifts that will support the cuttingedge work of BWH.
Identify and engage individual donors to cultivate close and steward gifts of $100K level and above for assigned specialty areas.
Achieve agreed upon annual performance metrics (i.e. faculty and prospect visits closed proposals dollar targets.
Develop written proposals correspondence and other communications for external and internal constituencies.
Prepare and report on activity related to assigned areas as necessary to the Senior Director.
Maintain uptodate generalistlevel expertise in tax and other laws affecting charitable giving.
Maintain and update relevant contact information in Raisers Edge ensure that activity is recorded in a timely manner.
Actively participate at regular prospect review and strategy meetings.
Perform other workrelated duties as assigned by the Senior Director.
