NipissingParry Sound Catholic invites applications for the position of:
TEACHER LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO)
Kindergarten JK/SK
Mandatory Requirements:
Basic qualifications to teach in the Primary Division
Preferred Requirements:
Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the above division
Experience with inquirybased learning in kindergarten classrooms promoting curiosity critical thinking and active engagement to support students exploration and understanding
Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Understanding of the Ontario Curriculum the Ontario Kindergarten Program 2016 and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
Knowledge and experience in supporting comprehensive (structured) literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction.
Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom as well as additional GSuite digital tools and EDSBY to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
Commitment to being an active participant in the schools professional learning team to promote student achievement
Willingness to actively assume extracurricular duties
Knowledge of and familiarity with the school environment would be an asset
Additional qualifications in Special Education would be an asset
