Technical diploma associate degree or specialized training in technology or healthrelated field is required. Bachelors degree preferred. 35 years experience in healthcare or related field required. Previous training certification or experience in Medical Simulation is preferred. Knowledge of patient simulation services technologies and applications preferred. Knowledge of computer hardware software applications or audio/video equipment relevant to healthcare required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required. Ability to express technical information clearly and simply to nontechnical persons required.Under the direction of the Simulation Center Program Manager the Simulation Center Technician provides technical support for all simulation operations including the preparation maintenance and repair of computerized manikins (software and hardware) task trainers and related multimedia peripherals. In addition the sim tech participates in the readying and conduction of simulation programming.The NWH Shipley Center for Medical Simulation is a generally pleasant officebased working environment with occasional distraction from office machines HVAC and elevator noise as well as noises related to specialty simulation equipment. Duties may be performed in close quarters lacking outside lighting and with occasional interruption. Staff duties include general cleaning of personal work areas maneuvering in crowded quarters and frequent traveling amongst the buildings of the hospitals campus. Day Shift with occassional need for evening and weekend hours.
