Job Description
We are currently conducting a CFOsearch for a Kelowna (BC) based incubator that funds several startup companies in various sectors.
In this newly created role the incoming Chief Financial Officer will be responsible to lead all of the companies (private and public) from a financial perspective. As an effective leader in financial decisionmaking the CFO will provide strategic financial input to senior management as well as manage month end closings preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements MD&A as well as the prepare clean easy to understand working papers.
As the successful candidate you will play acritical role in forecasting develop and implement the financial strategies for the various organizations manage and provide leadership to the bookkeeper dive into the details where required and make financial recommendations to ensure longterm success for each company that our client is funding.
Ideally you are someone who can jump in and help guide the developing culture of the team. As a startup organization our client is a fastgrowing energetic organization with incredible potential located in the Innovation Center downtown Kelowna BC.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Budgeting cashflow/ analysis;
- Prepare bank and other Gl account reconciliations;
- Research IFRS standards and write position papers to address complex accounting issues;
- Managing the relationship with the independent auditor;
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned;
- Assist in the management of equity financings;
- Work with external auditors transfer agent and legal advisors;
- Internal controls and generate improvements.
Requirements
- CA/CPA Designation;
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
- Experience in a financial leadership role of a publicly traded company is an asset for this role;
- Good understanding of consolidations and stockbased compensation calculations;
- 5 years in a mid to senior level accounting position;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
- Experience with SAGE 300 or QuickBooks Online;
- Proven ability to lead others to success;
- Detailoriented highly organized and able to work independently;
- Experience within the consumerpackaged goods industry is an asset;

Base salary for this role is starting in and around 120k per year (determined based on previous experience level) stock options 100 employer paid benefits and exceptional growth potential.
