Alstar Group has been providing quality construction services to the oil and gas industry since 1969. Located in Calgary with projects throughout Western Canada we are a leader in the oil and gas industry for turnkey new construction maintenance and prefabrication and modular construction services.

We are currently seeking a Weekday Shift Shop QA/QC Inspector in our fabrication shop in SE 8700 Venture Ave SE not transitaccessible).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Flexible to learn new tasks or different client expectations
  • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to review numerous types of documentation for errors discrepancies and missing information
  • Highly motivated and selfdirected
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

Accountabilities:

  • Possess CWB Level 1 Certification
  • Have 2 years previous Quality Control experience
  • Have CSTS09/2020 ticket or Common Safety Orientation ticket
  • Have a solid understanding of ASME and CSA codes and practices
  • Show a proven commitment to Safety
  • Have the ability to use tools and equipment safely
  • Commitment to safety and adhering to all safe work practices and procedures
  • Complete dimension and visual inspections of welded piping and structural steel
  • Record welders symbols heat numbers and radiography numbers on drawings and travel sheets
  • Prepare documentation for and inspect hydrostatic & pneumatic pressure tests
  • Install name plates coordinate inspections with ABSA NDE Contractors and Client TPIs
  • Complete Quality Control paperwork
  • Be able to work in a manufacturing facility with other trades present
  • Have the ability to perform outside/inside work sometimes in inclimate weather conditions
  • Meet the physical demands of the position
  • Be able to lift up to 60lbs work at heights be agile and able to go on/off equipment up/down ladders
  • Experience in welding and ASME equipment and piping is an asse
