Job Description
Mainframe Engineer
Location: Arlington VA
This position will support a federal government agency that requires US Citizenship.
Datawiz has a current opening for a Mainframe Engineer to support their Federal Government client on a fulltime long term contract.
Job Description:
Provide seniorlevel z/OS technical support (installation implementation administration and maintenance) for all IBM z/Mainframebased solutions.
Work with senior team members to perform problem determination and resolution capture and transmit system dumps closely work with vendors technical support apply fixes and patches coordinate testing and implementation of fixes and new versions and work with other mainframebased technical teams on production rollout.
Providing dump analysis and problem determination of root causes related to system problems or outages.
Participating in the installation implementation performance testing and integrity of a large (shared and cluster queues) IBM z/OS Parallel Sysplex systems
Installing maintaining and customizing operating systems and 3rd party ISV system software.
Preparing and installing system software including OS and 3rd party packages by following vendor and locationspecific installation procedures.
Requirements:
BA/BS in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
Six or more years of experience in mainframe operations management to include configuring debugging and maintaining TCPIP VTAM subsystems configurations.
Experience with z/OSMF ATTLS rules IPSEC policies SMP/E TSO/ISPF SDSF/ISPF and LPAR management.
Advanced knowledge of standard Systems Integration tools and practices.
Strong analytical and communication skills (written and oral).
Experience in a financial services environment preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of staff customers and other IT personnel.
Public Trust Background Investigation
This position requires having or obtaining a Public Trust Clearance. The requirements are below:
