Global Kids Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Finance Assistant. The Finance Assistant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks as well as adhering to and documenting internal controls. Reporting to the Finance and Contracts Coordinator the ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance excellent organizational skills and a passion for supporting the mission of our nonprofit. Additionally they must also demonstrate a high level of confidence and professionalism. This role presents a valuable opportunity for earlycareer professionals to gain experience in multiple fields.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Support:Assist with processing invoices in the expense system ensuring correct coding and approval routing. Follow up with vendors and clients regarding outstanding invoices or payments.
- Record Keeping:Maintain organized and accurate financial records including receipts invoices and other relevant documents. Assist in filing and storing financial paperwork in compliance with organizational policies.
- Financial Transactions:Help with the daily posting of financial transactions including receipts payments and adjustments into the accounting system.
- Bank Reconciliation:Assist in reconciling bank statements ensuring all financial transactions match the organizations records.
- Financial Reporting Support:Provide assistance in preparing reports for budgeting accounting and management purposes. Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Audit Support:Provide administrative support during audits by preparing documentation compiling financial records and responding to audit inquiries.
- General Administrative Support:Provide general administrative support to the finance team including organizing meetings coordinating financial records and helping with any special finance projects.
- Contract Management: Review consultant and subcontractor agreements to ensure terms deliverables and payment schedules align with approved scopes of work and assist with onboarding consultants by ensuring required documents (W9s payment instructions etc are collected and processed promptly.
- And other tasks as assigned.
Qualification:
- A bachelors degree in finance accounting or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a finance or accounting role preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and compliance requirements.
- Experience with bookkeeping preferred.
- Analytical skills and a proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) with an appetite to continually learn and grow.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Salary/Benefits:
This fulltime exempt position has an annual salary of $40000 to $45000. GK also offers affordable medical benefits dental and life insurance as well as paid holidays 12 vacation days (year 1 increasing thereafter based on years of employment 3 personal days and 8 sick days. GK staff also have access to retail discounts and other benefits through our Professional Employer Organization (PEO).
