JD:
Business Need / Purpose of Role:
This position is required for IOM team in executing projects for the North American Engineering team as part of the center of excellence team.
- Required tool knowledge are Autodesk Inventor Adobe illustrator and basic knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker (structured and unstructured).
- Ensuring project quality as per set standards excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is a must. This position reports to the Technical manager.
- Good understanding of products and their services. The same needs to be translated into simple and engaging content with the illustrations.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience writing technical documentation for Mechanical products
Objectives & Measurement
Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:
Objectives:
- Independently gather information from subject matter experts analyzing 3D models engineering drawings and legacy information to develop technical content for various product manuals.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely using correct grammar spelling and punctuation
- Creating technical illustrations using various tools
- Ability to comprehend engineering terminology and translate that into simple clear and concise content.
- Understanding of assembly and disassembly sequences
- Reviewing the manuals for technical content English and grammar.
- Project delivery and quality adherence
- Write technical articles covering machinery / process equipment / tools etc.
- Document types: Installation Manuals Operation and Maintenance manuals Online help and Process instruction manuals.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2 4 years experience on Technical writing experience
Language Skills: Proficiency in English (Written and Verbal)
Reasoning Ability: Clear and Logical reasoning ability
Computer Skills: Expertise in Adobe FrameMaker Illustrator Photoshop MS office products and Any one of the CAD Software. Desirable knowledge of Teamcentre.

- Minimum 24 years experience on Technical Writing. Specific knowledge of Product documentation like O&M Manuals Service Manuals
- Adobe FrameMaker Illustrator Photoshop.
- Candidates with high analytical mindset logical reasoning ability and collaborative mindset will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge on basics of mechanical engineering.
