Job Description
The Controllers Office is seeking a Payroll Analyst to help ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Key responsibilities include reviewing and resolving payroll anomalies before transmission serving as the primary liaison with university departments for payrollrelated functions and interfacing directly with employees on payroll matters such as deductions tax records and nonresident documentation requirements. Additional duties include preparing and maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting other initiatives to contribute to the success of the office.
Required Qualifications
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze interpret and explain complicated financial transactions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide customer service courteously and work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Ability to work independently and handle diverse tasks while meeting deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
A.S. or B.S. in accounting business administration or similar.
Experience using query tools such as Microsoft Access.
Experience interpreting and applying payroll concepts regulations.
Experience understanding and applying policies and procedures.
Experience conducting research account analysis and performing reconciliations.
