Job Description
- Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects.
- Performs manual work in preparing surfaces for paving.
- Level asphalt/aggregate to grade specifications using rakes shovels and trowels
- Excavates and fills trenches and ditches.
- Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
- Performs materials handling and storage.
- Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
- Measure mark paint and stake per measurements for grade and pave operations.
- Operates equipment such as asphalt saw concrete saw chain saw and other power tools to remove asphalt and debris.
- Follows direction of foreman as to daily tasks and expectations.
- Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
- Works within a team and complete other duties as assigned.
- Two Years Construction Experience.
- Heavy Highway Experience a Plus.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Successful completion of preemployment background and drug screen.
