Role Overview
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer the Risk Manager has responsibility for enhancing embedding and maintaining the Companys risk management system. The role requires risk management experience within an insurance company a good understanding of the insurance sector and of best practice risk management frameworks. The Risk Manager will be selfmotivated and wellorganised and able to manage and prioritise a broad range of activities across all aspects of risk management in the context of a rapidly growing business. The role holder will be required to interact with multiple functional areas including underwriting finance compliance claims operations senior management and colleagues in Everests European offices.
Key responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the development implementation embedding and maintenance of the risk management framework supporting the company in identifying monitoring managing and reporting risks.
Continuous development and embedding of the Companys risk management framework to meet the needs of a growing business.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including senior management and internal business units.
Effectively communicate complex risk issues to diverse audiences tailoring messages to different levels of understanding.
Promote a strong risk culture and risk ownership including visiting other branches to help embed this culture as required.
Provide day to day advice support and challenge to all functions on risk management matters.
Maintain and develop risk reporting including monitoring of risk appetite statement metrics.
Conduct risk management deep dive reviews and assurance reviews.
Provide risk management training as required.
Contribute to the preparation of the ORSA ensuring that all local risks are reflected.
Produce risk management papers for the Board / Risk Committee and present on occasion.
Competencies skills and experience:
Risk management experience within the insurance sector including experience of Solvency II.
Strong problem solving analytical and numerical skills.
Ability to demonstrate professional scepticism.
An ability to plan work manage time effectively and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to influence and write good quality reports.
Ability to influence.
Ability to develop effective working relationships across the business.
Selfmotivated with the capacity to work autonomously as part of a team and across teams managing multiple priorities.
Risk management qualification a plus.
