Special Projects Engineer (Concrete)

We operate 24/7 and as such you are required to work flexible hours weekends and participate in an oncall rota. Full training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools competency and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.


Position: Special Projects Engineer

Location: Gerrards Cross STW Special Projects Division (Gerrards Cross Buckinghamshire)

Job Type:permanent fulltime

Hours: Monday to Friday 50 hours 6am4:30pm)

Salary: 50000 per annum (made up of basic pay overtime on call allowance and bonuses)

About the Role:


Due to continued growth and development we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to wastewater network and drainage problems.


  • Travelling to residential sites in a HGV around the Home Counties and West London area powering a high pressure water jet for restoration.
  • Clean / clear / repair maintain drainage systems.
  • Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
  • Run diagnostics and repairs on drains using electro mechanical and specialist CCTV survey equipment.
  • Rodding blockages.
  • Delivering good customer service.
  • Maintaining good H&S practise while carrying out works.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be hard working and respectful and comply with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.


You must have a minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence and you must have completed the certificate of professional competence (CPC) and an up to date digi tachograph card.
