Position Summary
The Power Portfolio Strategy business units Lead Financial Analyst Energy Risk (LFAER) leads Grant PUDs energy risk management activities. The LFAER is responsible for assessing monitoring and reporting on energy risks and hedging activities for the power commodity including: 1 The power portfolio risk register; 2 Managing the development implementation and monitoring of the power portfolios Value at Risk (VaR) metric; 3 Managing the development implementation and monitoring of ESMs risk reporting; and 4 As assigned risk analysis work in support of ESMs the business activities directly impacting the power portfolio.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Lead Financial Analyst:
- Directs and oversees the monitoring tracking and reporting for risk analytics that support the improvement in accuracy and maturity of the energy risk register. Key responsibilities and tasks for managing the energy risk register include but are not limited to:
- Financial modeling and development of energy risk studies
- Direct and execute the process for updating and modifying the risk register and existing risk parameters
- Direct and execute the implementation of new risk parameters including coordination with the Power Portfolio modeling team
- Direct and execute energy risk related research analysis and communication to internal and external stakeholders
- Leads coordination with other Grant PUD business units for gathering information and data on work that impacts energy risk and
- Presenting to the key stakeholders including the Grant PUDs Executive Leadership the Commission and ESMs Leadership Team.
- Serves in the capacity as Project Manager on various energy risk related initiatives to ensure projects are completed accurately efficiently and successfully at various levels. The position requires the ability to research and ensure thoroughness and move programs forward to meet established deadlines.
- The position reports to the Sr Mgr of Power Portfolio Strategy but has a dotted line relationship with the Chief Commercial Officer.
Senior Financial Analyst:

- Assisting with financial modeling and development of energy risk studies

- The position reports to the Sr Mgr of Power Portfolio Strategy.

Required Experience and Education
Lead Financial Analyst:
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting economics or related field OR two years additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Seven or more years of experience in Finance Economics Energy Risk Data Analytics or related area.
Senior Financial Analyst:
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting economics or related field OR two years additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Five or more years of experience in Finance Economics Energy Risk Data Analytics or related area.
Financial Analyst:
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting economics or related field OR two years additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Two or more years of experience in Finance Economics Energy Risk Data Analytics or related area.
Required License and Certifications
- A valid State drivers license. Occasional travel to other Grant PUD locations is required.
Preferred
- Masters degree in finance accounting economics
Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge/advance knowledge in financial analytics
- Knowledge/advance knowledge of Microsoft office suite or Microsoft 365
- Applicable Washington statutes policies rules regulations and codes
- State and Federal regulations policies and laws affecting the utility industry
- Organization and prioritization

- Written and oral communication and presentations and preparing high quality research reports and other written work products
Physical Requirements
