The North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) is the largest justice and legal service in the Northern Territory. We provide vital support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people right across the Northern Territory. With offices in Darwin Palmerston Katherine Tennant Creek and Alice Springs we are passionate about delivering justice services while driving meaningful change in the legal system.

About the Role
As a Civil Lawyer Child Protection you will:
Represent parents and family members in child protection proceedings
Provide legal advice and advocacy in civil law matters
Undertake litigation and casework in key practice areas
Participate in remote legal clinics traveling to Aboriginal communities
Identify and advocate for policy and law reform
This role is perfect for a lawyer with a strong commitment to social justice cultural awareness and the ability to navigate complex legal landscapes with compassion.
What we are looking for Key criteria
Admitted or eligible for admission as a solicitor in NT and High Court of Australia
Experience in civil law litigation and casework (child protection experience highly regarded)
Ability to travel to remote communities for up to 4 nights as required
Strong communication skills with cultural sensitivity and crosscultural competency
Current drivers license & Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance)
No criminal history that disqualifies legal practice employment
