The Department of Chemistry at the University of North Dakota (UND) is seeking a fulltime nontenure track Teaching Assistant Professor in Chemistry. The position begins on August 16 2025 and is contingent upon availability of funding.
The position will enable the Chemistry Department to deliver general chemistry coursework including Chem 121 3 credits) Chem 122 3 credits) and General Chemistry laboratories (Chem 121L 122L and 221L). The General Chemistry courses are required for Chemistry majors but also a range of science majors and prehealth majors. Furthermore the general chemistry courses meet Essential Studies Science Requirements and Quantitative Reasoning Requirements.
The faculty in this position is expected to serve as a lab coordinator developing and coordinating 30 sections of labs (fill rate 90 each year while managing and training 20 graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants.
The Chemistry Department is housed in the College of Arts & Sciences and offers an ACScertified B.S. degree B.S./M.S. and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees.
