Job Description

Bachelors degree required. Masters Degree in healthcare administration business administration industrial engineering or a related field required. A minimum of 5 7 years of healthcare process improvement or related program management experience; two years experience in a large complex academic healthcare organization strongly preferred Superior organizational and interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within a complex academic medical center required. Proven program and project management team facilitation and analytic skills. Ability to facilitate and to work within dynamic teams as well as to work independently. Process improvement and/or change management experience in an academic healthcare setting preferred Senior level organizational and program management skills including effectively developing project workplans establishing deadlines and managing multiple highly complex projects within a fastpaced ever changing environment. Critical thinker with strong attention to detail planning and implementation of projects/events Highly results oriented proactive and selfdirected; able to work autonomously. Senior level skill in continuously assessing group dynamics. Demonstrates change agent demeanor; flexible thinker with ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment. Possesses strong influencing and relationshipbuilding skills. Agility in communicating effectively including navigating controversial issues with a wide range of departments and individuals at all levels throughout the organization. Excellent verbal presentation skills as well as ability to write in a clearly and concisely. Proven effectiveness in working with senior clinical and administrative leadership as well as with front line staff. Creative and strategic thinker with a flexible and collaborative style. Reporting to the Senior Director of Process Improvement and Ambulatory Management and Performance the incumbent serves as a key member of the leadership team to design and develop initiatives to advance the high stakes strategic priorities of the MGH and MGPO as related to Care Delivery of the Future i.e. Care Redesign and Patient Progression including but not limited to initiatives to: Enhance the delivery of cost effective accessible safe equitable high quality patient and family centered care Actively support population health & episodic care efforts Support development of bundled payment & other innovative payment methodologies The Program Manager will provide general oversight and will coordinate all aspects of the Care Redesign and Patient Progression programs and will manage the associated budget. The incumbent will design and develop ongoing opportunities as well as special programs to bring together champions both within MGH/MGPO and nationally to share best practices. The incumbent will also design effective promotional and educational materials as well as prepare presentations demonstrating the effectiveness of the work and the future vision. The Program Manager will play a key role in developing systems and structures enabling the Care Redesign and Patient Progression initiatives to achieve measurable and sustainable innovative care delivery outcomes. Develop an infrastructure to effectively prioritize support and sustain the care redesign and patient progression work; including specific projects as well as broad initiatives Develop and support a systematic reporting structure to provide ongoing visibility of the work up and down the organization. Develop ongoing communication vehicles to keep the organization informed of the work Develop effective written reports and presentations to communicate the status of the work broadly as well as at the project level Develop and arrange ongoing individual and team recognition programs Consider innovative approaches to continuously improve the Care Redesign Patient Progression and other related programs Design and manage meaningful educational opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students related to innovation in healthcare delivery models Identify programmatic barriers and risks; communicate and mitigate those effectively
