Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Johor-based Supplier Quality Manager for our client in the EMS space with the ideal candidate ensuring all incoming components and materials meet design and quality specifications.

Additionally he/she will be responsible for developing supplier capabilities improving quality performance and supporting new product introductions from a supplier quality perspective. The role requires close collaboration with engineering procurement production teams and global suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the supplier quality team to monitor assess and improve supplier performance in terms of quality and delivery.
  • Implement and enhance supplier quality processes including Incoming Quality Control (IQC) audits and material qualification protocols.
  • Drive improvements in supplier performance metrics such as DPPM OTD and NCR and escalate recurring issues for cross-functional resolution.
  • Manage supplier-related non-conformances conduct root cause investigations and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Define and track quality KPIs and maintain supplier scorecards; partner with procurement and engineering to evaluate and manage supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. NPI Manufacturing Engineering Quality) to ensure thorough part qualification and process validation.
  • Conduct routine supplier audits to ensure adherence to regulatory industry and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier readiness and capability.
  • Oversee material disposition and coordinate rework and recovery plans for supplier-related quality issues.
  • Mentor and guide the supplier quality team on quality tools standards and supplier engagement best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Mechanical or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of quality experience in electronics manufacturing or EMS with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong expertise in PCBA SMT box-build processes and component-level quality
  • Proficient in key quality methodologies including APQP PPAP SPC MSA FMEA and 8D
  • Solid understanding of supplier performance metrics like DPPM OTD and NCR
  • Excellent interpersonal negotiation and leadership skills with the ability to influence across functions
  • Self-motivated and capable of delivering results in a fast-paced matrixed environment
