Organizational Development Specialist
Organizational development interventions will primarily aim to strengthen USAID India capacity to lead and manage programsby providing resources sharing knowledge building capacity and maximizing learning opportunities. Under the supervision of the Chief of Party the Organizational Development Specialist will develop and execute the delivery of organizational change management support processes relevant to the achievement of the Missions strategic plan and implementing the Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS). The Organizational Development Specialist is well versed in USAIDs CLA experience and adept in employing tools and skills to advance organizational learning and adaptation.
Duties Responsibilities
The senior level manager shall lead the organizational development and performance improvement activities to enhance and supplement USAIDs CLA practices
Support the development of the OD agenda for USAID and its implementing partners.
Carry out assessments and diagnostics to help USAID teams gain a greater awareness of their performance management and strategy development.
Identify short and longterm goals for improving performance in consultation with leadership of selected technical offices.
Develop and carry out short and longrange development strategies and plans for selected sectors and offices.
Monitor progress on short and longrange strategies and make regular reports to USAID and other stakeholders (technical office leadership) as directed.
Employ profiling tools (e.g. Insights Discovery StrengthsFinder) to provide USAID staff a deeper appreciation of their work styles andin order to improve collaboration.
Provide coaching and mentorship to help USAID staff work more collaboratively and better fulfil their individual team and Missionwide goals.
Use diagnostic tools to help identify priorities and gaps in implementing gaps in capacity coordination or business processes.
Facilitate the Missions knowledge and understanding of cuttingedge organizational development research so that staff are making informed choices in deciding on approaches and strategies.
Use USAIDs CLA tools CLA learning and related resources to help Mission staff to deepen their CLA practice.
Provide recommendations on how USAID can improve their systems or structures utilize CLA to more effectively carry out the goals of the CDCS and assist the Mission in operationalizing these recommendations.
Examine synergies of the Missions various support contracts and recommend ways to maximize resources and results.
Support the building of OD and CLA capacities of implementing partners.
Effectively communicate progress on organizational development project deliverables to USAID India.
Experience
Masters degree in business administration/change management organizational development organizational behavior or related degree.
Eight years of professional experience in organizational development or adult learning using stateofthe art diagnostic methodologies and participatory approaches including mentoring and coaching.
Extensive experience in designing and delivering OD support to institutions and individuals and deep understanding of
participatory adultlearning methodologies facilitating change building consensus and adapting approaches based on results.

Ability to confidently engage with staff at all levels to define needs and expectations collaborate on projects and communicate results.
Experience with various types of assessment tools including 360degree assessments StrengthsFinder 2.0 TKI Leadership Circle MBTI DiSC and Insights Discovery.
Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to develop strong relationships and become a trusted confidant who is able to delicately maneuver sensitive topics.
Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated experience in facilitating meetings building consensus and creating innovative ways to bring teams together.
Proven ability to resolve sensitive and complicated work issues with senior highlevel country counterparts donor representatives and seniorlevel staff.
Familiarity with USAIDs CLA practice and prior experience working on USAIDfunded activities.
Fluency in English.
