Job Description
Position: Assistant Principal (PreK12)Set in the foothills of Vermonts Green Mountains Cabot School is a unique PreK12 community school recognized for its innovative approach to personalized projectbased learning. We emphasize authenticity strong relationships and creativity ensuring students take an active role in their education.Roles and Responsibilities: We are seeking an Assistant Principal who is passionate about fostering positive school culture and supporting student success. The ideal candidate will:Lead efforts to promote respect responsibility kindness and engagement within the school community.Implement restorative practices and PBIS to support student behavior and socialemotional growth.Work closely with students families and staff to resolve conflicts and address behavior challenges through a traumainformed lens.Meaningfully connect with students ages 318 building strong relationships that support their development.Help plan and implement schoolwide activities and celebrations that foster community and engagement.Communicate effectively to build strong relationships with students colleagues and families.Other duties and tasks as assigned.QualificationsMust have current Vermont Administrator license with the Agency of Education Physical RequirementsWork environment is in a mixed environment with moderate noise temperatures that are controlled and no exposure to chemicals or other negative air quality elements.The work is light/moderate work requiring exertion of up to 30 pounds of force to move or lift objects.The following physical and mental abilities are representative of those expected to complete the essential functions of the job:Standing for prolonged periodsSitting for prolonged periodsRepetitive motions with the hands wrists or fingersRepetitive motions with force on the back or lower bodyAbility to feel grasp or hold objects by handDiscernment of colors visuallyDiscernment of letters or numbersDiscernment of objects under low light or distant conditionsUnderstanding and communicating in spoken languageUnderstanding and communicating in written languagePerception of soundsMaking decisions using logic and rational thinkingTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily.
