The Judicial Assistant in the Statewide Courts in Burlington provides specialized customer support clerical and data entry work for the Information Center. The Information Centers primary duty is answering phones for the Courts throughout the state so the Judicial Assistant will have a general understanding and working knowledge of all divisions of the Judiciary to assist callers on the phone. Additional responsibilities include completing transcript uploads processing credit card payments over the phone and completing criminal record checks. The position is suitable for a hybrid remote schedule once training is completed.
The ideal candidate will bring administrative clerical and customer service experience and a desire to use their skills in upholding the rule of law to ensure equal access to justice. ;
Desired Skills and Experience for Judicial Assistant
This is a fulltime limitedservice opening with the Information Center in Burlington Vermont. Starting salary is $21.32 per hour. The limitedservice term will end 6/30/2028. The Judicial Assistant is a nonexempt Judicial Branch position equivalent to pay grade 19. Summary of Duties for Judicial Assistant
Scheduled hours of work generally conform to public court hours but assignments may extend beyond those hours. Occasional travel to other courts within the State of Vermont may be required. Travel will be reimbursed according to State policies. This position will be eligible for longevity increases in accordance with the State step pay plan and annual cost of living increases as enacted by the Vermont State Legislature. Job Code # 25016
