Job Description
POSITION: Assistant Band Instructor
REPORTS TO: Campus Principal Director of Fine Arts & Superintendent/Designee
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 195227 days with benefits provided.
EXEMPTION STATUS: Salaried Exempt.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Facilitate the instrumentbased performance groups and supplemental performers for afterschool evening and weekend events. This would include but not limited to pep band marching band drum line drill team and color guard.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required
- Masters degree from accredited university Preferred
- Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music programs
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Knowledge of state and UIL polices governing band
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to interpret data
- Strong communication public relations and interpersonal skills
ESSENTIALJOBFUNCTIONS:
- Facilitate high school/middle school instrumental performers.
- Assists with band instruction districtwide on a daily basis
- Establish performance requirements enforce academic requirements and verify each students eligibility to participate in band
- Provide for band participation at extracurricular events including but not limited to; concerts sporting contests (football basketball volleyball) pep rallies parades and district functions.
- Recommend policies to improve program
OTHER:
- Abide by state statutes school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
- Serve on committees as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee.
- Comply with polices established by federal and state law State Board of Education rule and board policy. Comply with all district and campuses routines and regulations.
