We are continuing to expand our LPG trading business which is part of our global trading organisation. To further capitalise on commercial insights we are rapidly building our trading origination & analytical capabilities to capture new inter and intraregional opportunities. We are looking for passionate individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset to drive change in our business.


The current opportunity is for an experienced LPG Trading Analyst to join our LPG Trading team based in Leatherhead Surrey.

What role would you play within our team

If successful you will take responsibility for understanding and analysing global LPG / NGL market fundamentals and identifying and capturing trading opportunities in partnership with the traders. The key deliverables include:

  • Strengthen LPG fundamentals analysis across the Global LPG Trading organisation working across regions as part of the wider Exxon Mobil trading analytics community
  • Grow interregional insights across LPG NGLs and other commodities especially naphtha and condensate
  • Leverage detailed market understanding to recommend profitable trading & origination strategies including derivative strategies
  • Lead the development & improvement of analytical tools to improve insights from market fundamentals; help with implementation/transition of analytical tools and models to trading teams
  • Communicate accurate and timely recurring market analysis reports to internal stakeholders. Furthermore produce adhoc material and presentation for management when required
  • Remain knowledgeable about leadingedge developments analytical techniques technologies and tools in advanced analytics

Who are we looking for

To be eligible for this role you must:

  • Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a numeric discipline e.g. Engineering Science Economics Finance Mathematics or Statistics (or hold other relevant industry experience)
  • Have previous experience in the LPG / NGL analytical space potentially including related consultancy experience
  • Have experience in LPG / NGL fundamentals analysis & advanced analytical methods including:
    • Strong numerical analytical and modelling skills
    • Demonstrable analytical/innovative thinking expertise intellectual rigor drive and desire to lead change
    • Experience working with databases and analytical/visualisation tools
  • Be able to demonstrate:
    • Strong clear precise communication & interpersonal skills
    • The ability to collaborate effectively with internal & external customers and partners
    • A creative approach to problem solving
    • The ability to work across regions (often virtually) with multicultural global teams
    • Flexibility in approach in order to win as a team

Proficiency / experience with data modelling and R Python or Matlab would be beneficial (not essential)
